This styled elopement brand shoot will forever be a favorite of mine. I traveled to Yosemite last fall to photograph Wear Your Love’s beautiful wedding dresses – their brand designs dresses out of organic cotton and believes in servicing the brides who seek a care-free adventure – this is everything I love to work with when it comes to brands!
I met up with Nina and Kyle in the valley at Ahwahnee Meadow for the start of this shoot! The views in Yosemite are absolutely breathtaking – from this meadow specifically, you have a view of Half Dome, as well as El Capitan from either side and it is truly incredible. We traveled there in November and the weather was still pretty moderate. If you’re planning a trip to Yosemite in the fall and winter months, be sure to monitor the weather conditions, as a lot of road closures happen if the weather is bad.
We captured a few styles in the meadow before traveling about 15 minutes north in the valley to Tunnel View. In this location, you get a landscape view of the entire Yosemite Valley, and this has to be one of my favorite views ever. There’s nothing like standing so small next to towering mountains and just feeling how vast and beautiful this landscape is.
If you are planning an elopement or shoot in Yosemite, be sure to get a permit before visiting! You can reserve a permit up to 3 months in advance and you need one to do any kind of photography in the park. There is also a $35 entrance fee that will give you access to the parks for 7 days. Yosemite is one of those places that is a MUST see at least once in your life!
